Fancy a new hobby? Love to sing? Why not try Barbershop- style singing with the Heart of England Chorus? The Heart of England Chorus is a four-part harmony Barbershop-style group, with male and female members of all ages.
It was started more than 50 years ago by Roy Phillips. Roy’s son, Ian, is currently our musical director. We perform at various venues across the year, including residential care homes, parish council functions, garden centres and shopping centres.
There is nothing like singing to lift your spirits and bring a smile to your face. But it also has a multitude of other benefits including increasing confidence and self-worth, improving physical well- being, enhancing breathing and posture, boosting mental well- being, reducing stress and helping to build social connections. I could list so many more benefits but why not come along and give it a try?
We would be delighted to share our love of Barbershop-style singing with you and would welcome new members, experienced or inexperienced, all will be welcome, no audition is required. It might be just the thing you have been looking for.
In addition to singing, we also enjoy social functions such as group meals out and long alley skittles.
We meet every Monday from 7.30pm to 10.00pm at Birstall Social Club, Wanlip Lane, Birstall LE4 4JS. Please contact John Phillips on 07738 526757 for more details, or just pop along to the Birstall Social Club any Monday.
