Nick Hannaford-Hill runs Certified Security Solutions Ltd, a professional security firm based right here in the village. You may have seen his advert in Barrow Voice. A true Barrovian, Nick was born and raised in the village and has strong roots in the community. He was among the first children to attend Barrow Playgroup and BOSCAPS, both of which his mum, Beryl, helped to establish. He later attended Hall Orchard and Humphrey Perkins before beginning his working life.
Nick has nearly 20 years’ experience in the security industry. For many years he worked for Burton Safes in Huddersfield, a leading manufacturer and distributor of safes, vaults, panic rooms, and security doors. During his time there, Nick progressed to National Sales Manager, responsible for the entire UK. Towards the end of the Covid period, he took redundancy to pursue a long-held ambition: building his own security business.
With time to plan, Nick launched Certified Security Solutions Ltd in August 2021, offering a comprehensive range of security products and services for both homes and businesses. These include locksmith services; commercial vehicle security such as van deadlocks and shielding plates; fire door maintenance and installation; gun safes; intruder alarms; CCTV; access control systems; and smart locks for homes and Airbnb properties, among many others. The business operates from Nick’s home in the heart of the village.
Nick is DBS checked, and the business is licensed by Certified Locksmith and Security, a highly respected national trade body within the industry.
While Nick undertakes a varied mix of work both locally and nationwide, he is particularly keen to support more customers within the village and surrounding areas. He is frequently recommended by clients who value the reassurance that comes from a knowledgeable, trustworthy local professional.
