Throughout 2025, we celebrated the 50th anniversary of Barrow Voice. We are now seriously concerned that 2026 will be its final year of publication.
The magazine only survives on its volunteers who help, not just write, but with the important ‘back room’ jobs. We need advertising revenue to finance the magazine and for that, we need someone who can manage the advertising. It’s an ideal job for someone newly retired who has enjoyed their ‘holiday’ but wants a little something more in their life that only needs a little input or commitment. Of course, this isn’t the only type of person who could enjoy joining the team and contributing in this way.
Could you help? Do you know someone who may like to help? A small team of people would help spread the work. For a no-commitment chat, please call Judith Rodgers on: 07718 153117 or email: editor@barrowvoice.co.uk

Letter to the editor:
Hi Karisa,
I am writing to you in reference to the article that was published in the Barrow Voice this month regarding the flags around our constituency.
In the article, you clearly stated that I, Paul Rudkin, councillor of Quorn and Barrow, had not responded to an email you sent to me regarding this matter. I did respond to you on the 27th September, stating that I didn’t have an opinion on this issue and that you would be better off contacting the people placing the flags on the lamp posts.
I would appreciate it if this could be corrected in your next publication of the Barrow Voice.
I look forward to seeing this correction in your next issue.
Kind regards
Cllr Paul Rudkin
We apologise for any upset caused from missing this response but after searching through the editor’s inbox and spam, Paul’s response must have fallen into an ‘email black hole’ because we can’t find it. We appreciate Paul making contact so that his contribution can be acknowledged and the article corrected.
