Welcome to the summer issue of Barrow Voice.

You will have seen from the front cover of this summer 2026 issue, Barrow Voice is still looking to be able to create a couple of teams of people to work with us to help keep the magazine alive. We need a small team to organise advertising – the life blood of the magazine; and a small team to help with the distribution to everyone’s doors.

Please think about how you can help: and get in touch.

Barrow has so much going for it. There are so many people in the village doing amazing things to celebrate; working in a variety of voluntary ways to celebrate; achieving local, national and global awards to celebrate. Barrow Voice is a way we can all celebrate – just look at this issue with community activities, sporting awards and voluntary activity. Look at the number of people who contribute to the magazine – the names listed on this page are the writers but all sorts of people contribute their ideas and their photographs. Do we really want to lose this?

If we can’t get a couple of teams together, Barrow Voice will f nish. We only have three issues left after this one.

Can you help?

Countdown to the last Barrow Voice

Barrow upon Soar Community Association (BUSCA) AGM

Takes place on Tuesday June 23rd in the Conservative Club Assembly Room, starting at 7.00pm. Members and non-members will be very welcome.

Light refreshments and nibbles will be provided along with a free drink voucher available to be used from the Cons Club bar.

If you are not already aware, BUSCA is:

Barrow Community Library, Barrow Arts Theatre Society (BATS), Barrow Voice, Barrow upon Soar Twinning Association, Barrow upon Soar Heritage Group, as well as our website and social media teams, and our events team who organise our Scarecrow Festival and many other events that take place throughout the year.

Without the BUSCA charity none of those activities could continue without very big changes so we do appreciate your support. BUSCA membership is free and there will be membership forms at the AGM.

BUSCA needs members, both as an indication of support for these village activities but also to provide a link for people who would like to become actively involved.

Do please come and join us.
