There will be something for everybody at this year’s Trinity Festival with events at Holy Trinity Church over the three days from Friday 10th to Sunday 12th October. The bells will ring to herald Friday’s concert which begins at 7pm and will feature performances by Humphrey Perkins students, a variety of singing numbers by Motion Dance Company and pieces by solo instrumentalists, accompanied by well-known local pianist Jeremy Kimber. Tickets will cost £5 for adults with no charge for under-18s. Refreshments will be served.
Saturday’s concert will begin at 7:30pm, also preceded by bells. Entry to this evening of fine music will be £10 for adults, free for under-18s. Trinity Chamber Group, led by Jon Barwell, will perform an all-British programme of string pieces across five centuries ancient to modern, from Purcell through to Freddie Mercury. Jeremy Kimber will be our piano soloist, playing Finzi’s Eclogue and tenor David Morris will return to our stage to sing a variety of genres. This will be an informal relaxed evening of music with refreshments available including a licensed bar.
On Sunday afternoon from 2pm to 4:30pm we have our Arts and Crafts Festival where you can enjoy a range of stalls and exhibitions by local talented artists, at least one of whom will be demonstrating their painting skills. Stalls include homemade soap and handmade glassware, small wooden toys and other handcrafted gifts. Local musicians will entertain you as you browse the stalls and exhibitions and if you’ve never been up the bell tower, make sure you sign up for a tour.
Refreshments will be available throughout the festival. Put the dates in your diaries now and make the most of this opportunity to experience these events so close to home.
