VE Day 80th Anniversary Tea

To celebrate the 80th Anniversary of Victory in Europe, the Parish Council organised an afternoon tea for 75 over 65’s in the Trinity Rooms at Holy Trinity Church, on Friday 9th May.

It was a lovely occasion and much enjoyed by those who attended.

 

Annual Parish Meeting

This 2025 Annual Parish Meeting took place on 29th April 2025 at the Methodist Church. In addition to the usual business, the Parish Council invited groups to apply for a grant of £250 from the new £1000 Annual Community Fund offered.

Each group was invited to attend before the meeting to inform attendees of their funding application and were also required to make a three-minute presentation during the meeting. All those in attendance then voted for their four favourite projects. The results were as follows:

  • 1st Place - Barrow Community Library
  • 2nd Place - Barrow Baptist Church
  • 3rd Place - Barrow upon Soar Scouts
  • 4th Place - Barrow Runners

At the Chair’s discretion, Barrow Town Cricket Club also received £250.00.

The new grant funding scheme proved to be a great success and we hope to offer it again next year.

This year’s Street Market will be held on Sunday 22nd June, from 11am to 4pm. There will be a variety of stalls including gifts, food and drink, entertainment, children’s rides. Come and join us for a great family day out!
